Term 4

This term we are learning about Deserts and thinking about whether we would like to live in a desert.  Our D.T, Computing and R.E are all linked to learning about hot cross buns! In D.T we will be designing and making our own hot cross bun. In Computing, we will learn how to use spreadsheets to work out the cost of our ingredients. In RE, we will be looking at the symbolism of the hot cross bun and investigating if Christianity is still relevant today. Our Science topic this term is all about Evolution and we will be learning about Charles Darwin. In Music, we will be continuing to learn the recorder. Please scroll to the bottom of the page for detailed curriculum information and Knowledge Organisers.

For all the information on what we are learning this term, please click on the links at the bottom of the page.

Home Learning:

Please encourage your children to complete the weekly home learning which is set on Google classroom as it helps to support class learning and develops good habits for the future.

English and Maths tasks are set on a Friday to be completed by the following Wednesday, these are linked to class learning. In addition, you should read as much as you can and revise key word spellings and times tables. Listening to a audio book is also a good way to encourage yourself to read different genres.

A project linked to our class topic will be set termly if you would like an extra challenge.  This will be then be presented in class if you would like to, and class rewards will be made to celebrate hard work.

Any help needed with logging into Google Classroom then please email school admin. If anyone has any questions about home learning or another issue, then please do not hesitate to speak to any of the Year 5 team who will be more than happy to help.
