Rowling (Year 6)

Welcome to Rowling Class

Our teachers are Mrs Andrews (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) and Mrs Cooper (Thursday and Friday).

Our teaching assistants are Mrs Martinson and Mrs French

Term 6

We have a really busy final term planned as we prepare to say goodbye to Rowling Class. We will soon be sending out information about events at the end of term, including our summer show, the Year 6 party and the Leavers' assembly. This term we have a focus on Computing and Design Technology where we will be designing, making and programming fairground rides. In Art, we reflect on our learning this year and then produce posters to reflect what is important to us. In Science, we will learn about healthy lifestyles. In addition to all of this we will be completing transition activities to prepare for Year 7.

P.E

This term P.E will be on Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday you will need to remember to bring your swimming kit to school. On Thursday you will need to come to school in PE kit as we are fortunate to have Bath Rugby in school to lead our PE sessions. Please make sure you come to school in the correct P.E uniform.

You will need to wear:

  • Plain black / navy shorts, plain white t-shirt or white t-shirt with school logo
  • Trainers for outdoor PE
  • Plain black / navy joggers and a plain black / navy sweatshirt or ‘hoodie’ may be worn for cold weather outdoor PE in the winter.
  • A blue school fleece with logo is also available
  •   Please do not wear different colours or clothes with other logos.

Home Learning:

To help you prepare for secondary school, we will set two short pieces of home learning a week. Mrs Andrews will set some home learning on Wednesday to be returned the following Monday and Mrs Cooper will set some learning on Friday to be completed by the following Wednesday. In addition, you should read as much as you can and practise spellings and times tables. All learning will be set on Google Classroom and also paper copies will be provided.
If anyone is worried about home learning, then please do not hesitate to speak to Mrs Andrews or Mrs Cooper.
